NORTH LIBERTY - Ailene Mlekodaj, 87, of North Liberty, IN, passed away in Memorial Hospital on March 15, 2010, at 3:05 p.m. after an extended illness. She formerly worked and retired from the Wells Alum. Corp. in North Liberty. She was born on June 5, 1922, in Royalton, KY. She was married January 29, 1944, in Adrian, MI, to Stanley Mlekodaj, who passed away February 5, 1984. She is survived by two sons, Jim (Marsha) of North Liberty and Steve (Trish) of Panasosskee, FL; a sister, Roberta Howard of North Liberty; three grandchildren, Michelle Groves, Angie and Jason Mlekodaj; three great-grandchildren, Dawson and Jackson Groves, and Carly Mlekodaj; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved. Preceding her in death were a sister, Catherine Rudd, and a brother, William Rice Jr. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, in the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home,North Liberty, officiated by Andy Kaser. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House in South Bend.
