SOUTH BEND - Rocco J. Misiano Jr., 47, passed away on
Saturday, Sept. 13th, in his sleep. Rocco was born October 13,
1960, in South Bend, to the late Rocco J. Misiano and Katherine (Howard)
Misiano. After attending two years at Penn High School, Rocco was
inspired by Howard Morse, his stepfather, to join the U.S.
Navy. He received an honorable discharge and then continued his
education at AAA Appliance Institute in San Diego, received his
high school diploma as well as his certification in HVAC and
Appliance Repair. Rocco was preceded in death by his beloved
brother, Kenneth Y. Howard, on December 7, 1983. Surviving
are his wife, Soledad "Shirley" Misiano of National
City, CA; sons, Rocco J. Misiano III of Chula Vista, California,
and Michael K. Misiano of National City; a daughter, Amanda L.
Misiano of National City; his mother and stepfather, Katherine
and Howard Morse of Mishawaka; his sister, Carrie VanDaele
of Ft. Wayne; his brother, Jeff J. (Cindi) Misiano of Mishawaka;
nieces, Ronee Ann VanDaele of Ft. Wayne, Heather, Ashley and
Katherine Misiano of Mishawaka; and his great-nephew, Elijah
VanDaele of Ft. Wayne.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.
Thursday, Sept. 18, in the HICKEY Funeral Homes and Cremation
Service, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46615, with Rev.
Wilson Shabaz presiding. There will be no visitation. Memorials
for Rocco may be made to his children.
