MISHAWAKA - William Lee Mishler, 84, of Ardennes Court,
Mishawaka, passed away at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, December 17th, in
Regency Place, South Bend. He was born July 18th, 1924, in South
Bend, to Ora and Flossie (Gronkright) Mishler, who
preceded him in death along with his brother, James Mishler. On
November 8th, 1947, he married the former Rosemary T. Kearney.
She survives with four children, Sue (Rick) Berger and
Janet (Tim) Shide, both of South Bend, Mary Mishler of
Greensboro, North Carolina, and Jacqueline (Charles) Gaver
of Hagerstown, Maryland. Also surviving are his brothers, Robert
(Lois) Mishler of Columbus, Mississippi, James (Anne) Kemble of
Alexandria, Virginia, and John (Georganna) Kemble of
Indianapolis, Indiana. Nine grandchildren and 21
great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Mishler was a veteran of
the United States Army, serving during World War II in the
European Theater where he was awarded four bronze stars. He
retired from Mack Trucks Inc. in Hagerstown, Maryland, after
working for 13 years at Studebaker Corporation in South Bend. He
was a life member of American Legion Post #42 in Hagerstown,
Maryland.
Funeral services for Mr. Mishler will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, where friends will be received from 3 to 7pm Friday. Military rites will be presented after the services on Saturday at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, South Bend.
