SOUTH BEND - Thaddeus A. Mirocha, 91, passed away at 3:15
a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2008, in Southfield Village. Thaddeus was
born on August 20, 1916, in South Bend, to the late Anthony and
Catherine (Lupa) Mirocha.
He married Margaret (Hurya), who
preceded him in death on October 7, 1990. He was also preceded in
death by his brother, Kelly J. Mirocha; and four sisters, Mary Perry,
Anna Thilman, Josephine Grzeskowiak and Alice
Mirocha. He is survived by four nieces, Jacquelyn Kelley,
Carolyn Kovacs, Marilyn Dudeck and Sandra Pontius;
three nephews, Arthur Perry, Thomas Grzeskowiak and Melvin
Grzeskowiak; several great-nieces and nephews, as well as
great-great- and great-great-great- nieces and nephews. Thaddeus
was a parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Matthew and a member of
American Legion Post 357. He served in the United States Army
during WWII and was discharged in 1945. He retired from the
United States Post Office as a letter carrier.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 15,
2008, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME,
1827 E. Ireland Road, South Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated on Friday, May 16, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the
Cathedral of St. Matthew. Burial will follow at St. Joseph
Cemetery, South Bend. The family has requested that, in lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Cathedral of St.
Matthew, 1701 Miami St., South Bend, IN 46613.
