SOUTH BEND - Susan Ellen Miramontes, went home to be with her Savior, on December 30 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Susan was born on September 30, 1952 in San Francisco, California. She was 57 years of age. Susan was the daughter of John Miramontes, who is deceased, and her mother Mary Louise Miramontes-Bizuet who lives in Long Beach, Ca. She is survived by her son Elijah David Ortiz, of South Bend, her sister Elizabeth Miramontes of Long Beach, CA, and her brother Michael Miramontes of Monrovia, CA She also has numerous nieces, cousins, nephews and aunts that loved her very much! She graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood CA. in 1970. While in high school she was a cheerleader and was very outgoing and had many friends. She went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, she worked for Amtrack, and at one time was a professional singer. Susan loved to travel and visited many countries in Europe, but her favorite country was Israel. Susan came to South Bend in the early 1990's to work for Dr. Lester Sumrall, helping to assist in scheduling his travels. Susan was a mighty woman of God and very anointed in winning souls for the Lord. She left South Bend for a few years to be an assistant pastor for a church in Arizona. Susan returned to South Bend where she attended Christ Chapel , under Pastor Stephen Sumrall. Services will be held at Christ Chapel, 3402 S. Locust Rd in South Bend on Monday January 4th. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. and memorial service at 1 a.m. Susan will be buried at Southlawn in South Bend.
