Russell E. Minges, 75, of Bradenton, Fla., died suddenly on Friday, March 7, in his home.

The memorial service was held in Bradenton on Wednesday, March 12.

Russell was born in South Bend, Ind., on Feb. 4, 1928, to William E. and Elsie Minges. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a sister, Mary Egan. He graduated Central Catholic High School then the Notre Dame University in 1950. Russ proudly serviced his country during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Russell married Marion LaPorte of Mishawaka, Ind., in 1953. Survivors include Maureen Minges, Mark (Barbara) Minges, and two grandchildren, Amanda and Justin of St. Joseph, Mich. Also surviving him are three brothers, Robert, William and Charles Minges.

Russ was employed at Whirlpool Corporation for many years as marketing/advertising manager before moving to Florida. He loved sailing, traveling and world history. He was a loving father and will be deeply missed by many.
