Mr. James B.F. Millsaps, 75, beloved
husband, father and grandfather who resided on South Kentucky
Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away following an extended
illness at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, in the Cardinal
Nurs-ing & Rehabili-tation Center. On Jan. 25, 1925, in
Stonewall, Miss., he was born to the union of the late Elijah and
Blanch (Taylor) Millsaps. Coming from Elkhart, Ind., he
had lived in South Bend for the past 40 years. In Elkhart, he was
united in wedlock to Anna Atkins on June 30, 1957. He was
retired from the Bendix Corporation as a machinist for many
years. He was a loyal and faithful member of Elizabeth Memorial
Church of God in Christ where he served as a senior deacon. He
was also a member of the A.A.R.P. Loving family members who
survive include his wife, Anna; three daughters, Beverly
Millsaps, Kimberly (Thomas) Ross and Yolanda Millsaps, all
of South Bend; two sons, James (Louise) Millsaps and Steven
(Cynethea) Millsaps, both of Elkhart; 14 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends. He
was preceded in death by two sisters, Jenel Murphy and
Margaret Millsaps; and by four brothers, Paul Millsaps, Edward
Millsaps, E.J. Millsaps and Quintus Millsaps.
Funeral services for Mr. Millsaps will be
held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, in Elizabeth Memorial Church
of God in Christ where friends may call one hour prior to the
service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Alford's
Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
