SOUTH BEND - Son, father, brother & friend, Joseph David Milliken Sr., 40, formerly of South Bend recently moved to Shelocta, PA. Passed away unexpectedly, on August 11, 2008, at Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, PA. He leaves behind; son, Joseph David Milliken II formerly of South Bend now residing in Shelocta, PA; father, Larry L. Milliken of Elkhart; mother, Mitzi B. Hulitt (deceased); brothers, Bryan L. Milliken I of Shelocta, PA, Benjamin L. Hulitt of South Bend, Shawn Milliken of Elkhart; sister, Elizabeth Wentland of Elkhart; along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, his very close and dear friend, Dewayne Polk, who was there for Joe and Joey many times in their life when they needed someone. Joseph had grown up belonging to Faith Apostolic Temple in South Bend. He had dedicated the majority of his life in the nursing field being of help to many in need. He was a single father. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, music and playing with computers.

There will be a benefit today, Saturday, August 16 starting at 6:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 1167, 1047 Lincolnway E., South Bend. Visitation will be on Monday, August 18 in Faith Apostolic Temple, 911 N. Bendix, South Bend, IN from 11:00 a.m. to Noon. Funeral services will be held at Noon in the church. Joseph's son Joseph, his brother Bryan would like to give special Thanks to: Donald Sr., Sue, Donna, and Donald Jr. Bromeling, Michele Jones, Melissa Goepfrich, Clifford and Annette Bromeling, Bowser-Minich Funeral Home in Pennsylvania and Hahn Funeral Home in Mishawaka for all of their help the past several days.
