SOUTH BEND - Rudolph B. "Rudy" Miller, 87, of
South Bend, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2008, in Memorial
Hospital, South Bend. Rudy was born on March 12, 1920, in Litpon,
Saskatchewan, Canada, to the late Gottlieb and Matilda (Flemmer)
Miller.
On October 11, 1947, he married Esther Pluta,
who preceded him in death in June 1996. He was also preceded in
death by three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his
daughter, Carol (Dale) Rush, and his son, Rudy R. Miller,
both of South Bend; two grandchildren, Tracy (David) Agostino
and Kim Rush; and by three great-grandchildren, Kevin, Nathan and
Alexis Agostino. He is also survived by several nieces and
nephews.
Rudy worked as a body man for Hamilton Body
Shop for 18 years. He then worked for Freemen Spicer for 18
years, retiring in 1970. After his retirement he worked for Carl
Weiss for four years. He was a WW II Army veteran, a member of
VFW Post #624 in Roseland, and was a parishioner of Christ the
King Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM
Wednesday, March 12, 2008, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N.
Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a 7 PM parish Rosary will be
recited. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM
Thursday, March 13, in Christ the King Church, with burial to
follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
