Robert James Miller, 75, residing on
East Jackson Street, Lakeville, Ind., passed away at 5:15 p.m.
Wednesday, March 19, 2003, in Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation
Center, South Bend. He was born Oct. 29, 1927, in Sturgis, Mich.,
as the son of George Washington & Eva (Murray) Miller,
and had lived in Lakeville since 1961, coming from Plymouth, Ind.
On Oct. 30, 1954, in Plymouth, he married
Juanita Marie Zehner, who survives. He is also survived by
four daughters, Kathy (Charles) Kline of Plymouth, Shelley
(Paul) Papczynski of Lakeville, April (Andrew) Prebys
of South Bend, and Kris Bandy of Lakeville; and a son,
Craig Murray Miller of Lakeville. Also surviving are 11
grandchildren, one step-grandchild, six great-grandchildren, and
his sister, Margaret M. Hughes of Fountain Hills, Ariz.
Mr. Miller retired from Wheelhorse
Corporation and, following retirement, he worked in security at
the South Bend Tribune. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the
Army Air Force, and was a Merchant Marine. He was a member of the
American Legion Walkerton Post 189, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
8748, South Bend, and the Loyal Order of Moose in Plymouth.
A private family service will be on
Saturday, March 22, in the Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville. Rev.
Vito Rulli, pastor of Lakeside Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth. There will be no
visitation.
