MISHAWAKA - Kathryn Ferne Holcomb Miller, 97, of Mishawaka died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, in Greencroft Nursing Home, Goshen, Indiana. Born January 14, 1911, in Estherville, Iowa, a daughter of John Edward and Caroline Rosalie Beck Holcomb, she married Linford Henry Miller on December 14, 1937, who preceded her in death in 1972. Surviving are two children, Mary Louise Fowler of Lexington, TN and David Lynn Miller of Mishawaka; one sister, Edith Ann Koch of Oakland, Michigan; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Ferne was a member of First Baptist Church in Mishawaka for over fifty years, where she was actively involved in the Baptist Children's Home Mission Group for many years and served faithfully with the Social Committee working in the kitchen.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Mishawaka with visitation one hour before. Her son, Rev. David Miller, will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main, Mishawaka. Burial will be at Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Mishawaka.
