SOUTH BEND - Esther A. Miller, 73, of Paxson Drive, died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Miller retired in 1984 from St. Joseph's High School in the cafeteria and was a wedding cook at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She was born July 24, 1922, in South Bend.

On Oct. 11, 1947, in South Bend, as Esther Pluta, she married Rudy B. Miller. He survives with a daughter, Carol Rush of South Bend; a son, Rudy R. of South Bend; two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and two brothers, Frank and Jerome Pluta, both of South Bend. She was a member of M.R. Falcons, Ladies of the Moose Lodge 58, and Beacon Bowl Rebel Rollers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
