MISHAWAKA - Connie R. Miller, 71, passed away on Wednesday,
January 6th, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical, Mishawaka.
Connie was born on April 13, 1938, in South Bend, to Gary and
Opal June (Hatfield) Montague. She was preceded in death by her
parents, a granddaughter, Jana Gulbranson, and a sister, Dawn
Tuttle. On May 18, 1958, in South Bend, as the former Connie
Montague, she married Alva B. Miller. She is survived by her
husband of 51 years, Alva; three children, Holly (Mike) Cadam of
Middlebury, Hope (Barry) Spradlin of Granger and Matthew
(Sherrie) Miller of Osceola; four grandsons, Mike (Janine)
Gulbranson, Brandon (Kari) Gulbranson, Dylan Spradlin and Trevor
Miller; two great-granddaughters, Makayla and Chloe Gulbranson;
and a sister, Rita Lane of Wakarusa. Connie was a 1956 graduate
of James Whitcomb Riley High School. As a co-op student, she
began her career as a legal secretary at the Bendix Corp. in the
patent dept. For several years to follow, she worked for local
attorneys including Paul Cholas, South Bend. In the fall of 2009,
Connie retired with 15 years of service from Ivy Tech Community
College in the business administrations office. Family and
friends may visit today, January 10, from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. in Hahn
Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.. Funeral services
will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 11, in the funeral home,
with Bob Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens, Osceola. To leave the family an online
