Geneva Estelle "Stella" Millage,
97, residing at Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away
at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3rd. She was born on February 15th,
1903. In 1920, as Geneva Estelle Maynard, she married
James Henry Millage, who passed away in 1970. Both Stella and
James were lifelong Mishawaka residents. She was also preceded in
death by two sons, Wilfred and Jim Millage, both of Mishawaka;
two daughters, Althea Kilgore of Summitville, Ind., and
Thelma Tavernier Russell of Mishawaka; and by two
grandsons, Ronnie Millage of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Johnny Dooms
of Mishawaka. She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Dooms
and Judy Huffer, both of Mishawaka; and by 16
grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several
great-great-grandchildren.
Stella liked working in her flowerbeds,
hunting dandelions, and going through woods gathering mushrooms.
In earlier years she enjoyed playing shuffleboard on a team with
two of her daughters, who also sang with her at Jerry's Pub. Most
of all, she liked going on long rides in the car and stopping at
yard sales.
Funeral services for Mrs. Millage will be
held at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910
North Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends will be received from
6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will follow the services at St.
Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
