Rose Mary Miles

Dec. 18, 1916 - March 3, 1999

Rose Mary (Phillips) Miles, 82, of Sanford, N.C., 3882 Avents Ferry Road, formerly of South Bend, Ind., died on Wednesday morning, March 3, at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at the Buckhorn United Methodist Church, Sanford, by Rev. Al Hocutt and Rev. John Forbes. Burial will follow in Pennsylvania at a later date.

Mrs. Miles was born in Smock, Pa., raised during The Depression, a daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa Galvaczki Filep.

She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Presnal of Sanford; three sons, Joseph Evans of Brentwood, N.Y., Robert Evans of Shirley, N.Y., and C.J. Miles of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a sister, Margaret Fisher of Glasscourt, Pa.; and by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Miles was a Christian woman of strong faith which she passed around to her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Miles worshiped at Buckhorn United Methodist Church with her family and church family.
