SOUTH BEND - Howard Ellsworth Milbourn Sr., 89, of Rue Rabelais, was found dead in his home about 8 a.m. today of natural causes. Mr. Milbourn retired from J.N. Carr & Son, Elkhart. He was born Aug. 23, 1906, in Brookville, Ind., and lived in South Bend since 1935, coming from Benton Harbor.

In 1926, he married Irene Dalzall. She died in 1946. On July 1, 1947, in South Bend, he married Katherine B. Jester. She died Jan. 30, 1989. On Aug. 1, 1989, in South Bend, he married Miriam Zurbach Wiggins, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Howard E. Jr. of South Bend and Thomas E. of Rockford, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchild. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Masonic Lodge 45.

Private services will be Thursday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
