SOUTH BEND - Lottie M. Mikolajewski, 88, of South Bend, IN,
passed away at 3:20 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2009, in the
Morningside Nursing and Memory Center. Lottie was born on April
4, 1921, in LaPorte, IN, to John and Julia (Pataluch) Kozlowski,
and had lived in South Bend since 1948. On July 3, 1948, as
Lottie M. Kozlowski, she married Chester T. Mikolajewski, who
preceded her in death on September 1, 2001, in Sacred Heart
Church, LaPorte, IN. Also preceding her in death were one sister,
Adeline Lewandowski, and one brother, Stanley Kozlowski.
Survivors include three sons, Leonard J. Mikolajewski of South
Bend, IN, Gene C. Mikolajewski of South Bend, IN, and Dennis M.
Mikolajewski of Lansing, IL; two grandchildren, Bryan
Mikolajewski of Palatine, IL, and Leslie Mikolajewski of
Mishawaka, IN; three sisters, Sophie Gadzala of Merrillville, IN,
Mary Skwiat of Michigan City, IN, and Agnes (Joseph) Craig of
Michigan City, IN; and three brothers, Chester Kozlowski of
LaPorte, IN, Lou (Dorothy) Kozlowski of LaPorte, IN, and Leo
(Dorothy) Kozlowski of Gahanna, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2009, in St.
Adalbert Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral
Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00
p.m. Lottie was a member of St. Adalbert Parish, the Rosary
Society and Harvest House. She was also a member of the Golden
Cluster, International Polka Association, and American Legion
Pulaski Post #357 Woman's Auxiliary. Memorial contributions may
be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. To send online
