Chester T. Mikolajewski, 84, of South
Bend, IN, passed away at 2:45 a.m., Sunday, September 2, 2001, in
Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Mikolajewski was
born in South Bend, IN, on February 15, 1917 to Casimer and
Katherine Mikolajewski, both who preceded him in death. Three
sisters, Elizabeth Snyder, Tillie Szulczyk and
Veronica Roznanski also preceded him in death. Mr.
Mikolajewski retired from Clark Equipment in Buchanan, MI.
On July 3, 1948, in Sacred Heart Church,
LaPorte, IN, he married Lottie M. Kozlowski, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Leonard J. Mikolajewski and Eugene
C. Mikolajewski, both of South Bend, IN, and Dennis M.
Mikolajewski of Lansing, IL; and by two grandchildren, Bryan and
Leslie Mikolajewski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2001, in St. Adalbert Church.
Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call
form 2 until 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N.
Bendix Drive, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m.
Mr. Mikolajewski was a member of St. Adalbert Parish, Ushers
Club, and Harvest House. He was also a W.W. II Army Veteran, a
member of the American Legion Pulaski Post #357, P.N.A. #83, St.
Joseph Young Men's Society, St. Hedwig Golden Cluster and Holy
name Society, and an usher for the University of Notre Dame
Football games. He enjoyed Polka Music and Polka Dancing.
