MISHAWAKA - Barbara E. Midday, 64, of
Alford Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 2:13 a.m. on
Saturday, Aug. 22, in St. Joseph Community Hospital. Mrs. Midday
was born on Dec. 16, 1933, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of the
late Charles and Illah (Walker) Torrence. Barbara
is survived by two daughters, Margie Holloway of North
Liberty, Ind. and Susan Link of Mishawaka; nine
grandchildren, Troy Holloway of Mishawaka, Heather Spaulding
of South Bend, Ind., Derek, Pam, Blaise, Margaret and Mary
Holloway, all of North Liberty, Monica Midday of Mishawaka and
Megan Link, also of Mishawaka; two great-grandchildren, Joseph
and Danielle Spaulding of South Bend; four brothers, Elmo
Torrence of Mishawaka, Dean and Zane Torrence, both of Osceola,
Ind. and Wayne Torrence of Houston, Texas; one sister, Gail Gohn
of Osceola; two sons-in-law, Roger Holloway and Steve Link; and
by one sister-in-law, Peggy Holland of Peru, Ind. Mrs.
Midday was preceded in death by four children, Tommy in 1955,
Timmy and Theresa in 1959, and Joseph A. in 1982. She was
employed as a nurses aide for several hospitals and nursing homes
before retiring. Mrs. Midday was a former member of St. Patrick's
Catholic Church and of St. Bavo's Catholic Church.
Private services will be held with burial in
Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. The family requests that memorial
contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital,
P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 300 Memphis, TN 38148. Funeral arrangements
were entrusted to Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street,
Mishawaka.
