DeVon Leo Micinski, 77, of Kettering
Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away Thursday, December 8, 2005,
at 6:44 p.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. DeVon was
born June 4, 1928, in South Bend, to the late Cashimer C. and
Isabelle Rita (Wachs) Micinski. On July 20, 1955, he
married Antoinette Bongiovanni in South Bend, and she
survives. Also surviving is a son, Russell (Bobbie) Micinski of
South Bend; and two grandsons, Casey and Scott Micinski, both of
South Bend; along with several nieces and nephews. One daughter,
Carolyn Fisher; and two brothers, LeVern and Lionel
Micinski preceded him in death. DeVon was retired from Aucilla
Plastics of South Bend, where he worked as a tool and die maker.
He served during the Korean War, was a member of the VFW Post
360, American Legion Post 161, in Mishawaka, and also the
Mishawaka High School Alumni. He enjoyed wildlife and fed the
birds and squirrels daily. He also enjoyed watching his grandsons
play baseball.
A Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 15, 2005, in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Friends are calling on Wednesday, December 14, 2005, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the McGann Hay, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend, IN, where a Rosary will be held at 3 p.m. Burial will take place in the Riverview Cemetery, South Bend.
