Linus R. Michels

Linus R. Michels, 72, of 229 N. Hill St., died at 2:50 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph Hospital after an extended illness.
He was a retired employee of the Studebaker Corp.
He was born Feb. 7, 1898, in Mishawaka. On July 18, 1921, in South Bend, he married Ann Cavanaugh, who survives.
Also surviving are four brothers, Richard F. Michels of South Bend, Hugh E. Michels of Granger, J. J. Michels of Mishawaka and Gerald Michels of Sturgis, Mich., and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Hillebrand and Mrs. Genevieve Jones, both of Mishawaka.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and after noon Monday at the McGann Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Rev. Donald D. Guertin, C.S.C., pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. A wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Mr. Michels was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Eagles Lodge of Mishawaka and the United Auto Workers Local 9.
