SOUTH BEND - Lucille E. Michalski, 86, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008, in Our Lady of Peace Hospital. Lucille was born on November 23, 1921, in South Bend, to Walter and Lottie Pietraszewski.

On July 5, 1947, in South Bend, as Lucille E. Pietraszewski, she married Anthony O. Michalski, who preceded her in death on September 18, 1979. Also preceding her in death were her parents, and two children, Lorraine Michalski and Leon Michalski. Survivors include her daughter, Arlene D. Michalski of South Bend, IN; her son, David J. (Linda) Michalski of Burlington, NC; two grandchildren, David J. Michalski, Jr. of Chicago, IL, and Ashley Michalski of Burlington, NC; and one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Michalski of Chicago, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 29, 2008, in St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Church. The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center for the wonderful care they gave to Lucille over the last year.
