Sister Mary Christa CSC, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, died at Saint Mary’s Convent, Monday after a long illness. She was born Maude Michaels. She received her early education and high school in Yale, Mich. and entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1901. She made her profession of vows in 1903. During her community life she was assigned to teaching at Holy Cross Academy and Blessed Heart Convent in Washington; Austin, Texas; Baltimore, Md.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Boise, Idaho; Union City, Ind.; Valparaiso, Ind.; and Harvard, Ill. She retired to St. Mary’s Convent in 1958 and has been assigned here since.

The requiem high mass will be offered in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto on St. Mary’s campus, Wednesday at 6:45 a.m. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor until 8 p.m. tonight.
