SOUTH BEND - Janet Lynn Metz, 58, of South Bend, passed
away at 12:55 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2008, in Hospice House, South
Bend. Janet was born on May 4, 1950, in South Bend, and had been
a lifelong resident. Janet worked as an accountant with the
Bendix Corporation and Allied Signal for over 20 years. She
enjoyed her grade school years at James Monroe and cherished the
friendships with her classmates. She was a graduate of Riley High
School and Indiana University, Bloomington. Janet enjoyed bowling
and her participation with the Bendix Ladies Golf League.
Janet is survived by her parents, John J.
and Jacquoline A. (Warner) Metz of South Bend; one sister
and brother-in-law, Judith and Richard Gilday of Carmel;
two nieces, Meghan and Caitlin Gilday; and one nephew, Shaun
Gilday. Her brother, John Metz Jr., preceded her in death.
A memorial service honoring Janet's life
will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, in the Palmer Funeral
Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev.
Timothy L. Knauff, Jr. will officiate. Friends may visit with the
family one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
Private graveside services will take place
at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Contributions in memory of
