Elmer Metras, aged 67, of Dowagiac, Michigan, a former resident here, died in his home at 1 PM Thursday after four weeks illness.  He had had heart disease or about 4 years.  He was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, August 1870, and was married in 1896 to Alan Adelsperger, of South Bend.  Surviving are his widow, two daughters, Sister Florenta, C. S. C., and Sister Helen Terese, C. S. C., of St. Mary's college here.  Mrs. Loretta Marker and Mrs. Catherine Graykowski this city, and Miss Margret Mary Metras at home; 6 sons, George, John and Elmer Metras, Detroit, MI; McGliore Metras, Denver, Colorado, and Lawrence and Francis Metras and home, and nine grandchildren.  The funeral will take place at 9 AM Monday in Holy Maternity Roman Catholic Church, Dowagiac with Rev. Frank Carroll pastor singing the Requiem mass.  Interment will be in Dowagiac.
