May 5, 1928 - Feb. 4, 2010MISHAWAKA - Ivan "Rocky" Metcalf, 81, of Mishawaka, passed away on Thursday in his home after battling cancer for a year. Ivan was born on May 5, 1928, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Cecil and Gladys Metcalf. Ivan served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Mishawaka Utilities after 35 years of service. Ivan was preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers and his parents. In 1980 Ivan married Marilyn Swank, who passed away in 1993. Later, he was preceded in death by Ruby Heatherly. Ivan is survived by two sons, Brad (Ruth) Metcalf and Robert (Annette) Metcalf; two sisters, Ethel and Donna; five grandchildren, Erin Danielle, Krystal, Corey and Paige; along with two great-grandchildren, Emily and Drake. Visitation will be in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, IN, on Monday, February 8, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 6:00 p.m., with Dr. Bob Laurent officiating the funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society .
