John F. Meszaros
March 3, 1925 - March 14, 2006
John F. Meszaros, 81, of South
Bend, passed away after an illness on Tuesday, March 14, 2006, in
his residence.
Mr. Meszaros retired from 1st
Source Bank, and served in the United States Army during World
War II. He also was a member of Bowlers Country Club, spending
his summers on the golf course. He graduated from Riley High
School and was a member of the tennis team. John was one of the
original members who helped build St. Jude Catholic Church in
1950. John was born on March 3, 1925, in South Bend, to Emery and
Theresa (Farkas) Meszaros.
On September 13, 1947, in South
Bend, he married the former Jeanne H. Borsody, who survives. Also
surviving are two daughters, Jeanne Anne (John) Gadd of South
Bend and Eileen (Dave) Huff of North Liberty; three sons, William
Meszaros and Jack Meszaros, both of South Bend, and James (Linda)
Meszaros of Grand Rapids, MI; five grandchildren, Jennifer,
Joshua, Caleb, Angela and Aaron; two sisters, Theresa Taffee of
Wake Forest, NC, and Ann Bowman of Mishawaka; and a brother,
William (Pat) Meszaros of Edwardsburg, MI.
John was preceded in death by two
sisters, Mary Meszaros and Helen Grew; and by three brothers,
Emery Meszaros, Joseph Meszaros and Steve Meszaros.
Funeral services will be
conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2006, in Zahoran
Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow at Sacred
Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call from noon until the
time of services in the funeral home.
