WALKERTON - Wanda M. Messman, 61, of
709 Ohio St., died of natural causes at 8:14 p.m. Friday in St.
Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. Mrs. Messman was a
demonstrator for Nickel's Bakery at Ray & Kenny's Super
Value. She was born Jan. 4, 1933, in Indianola, Iowa, and lived
in Walkerton since 1990, coming from Hermitage, Mo.
On June 22, 1968, in Stigler, Okla., she
married Willard G. Messman. He survives with three sons, John Hailstock
of Wheatland, Mo., Danny Hailstock and Tom Hailstock, both of
California; four sisters, Lula Rampster of Marshalltown,
Iowa, Donna Taft of Queen City, Mo., and Clara and Rita
Vaggerl of Prescott, Ariz.; and two brothers, James Taft of
Marshalltown and Charles Taft Jr. of Van Meter, Iowa. She was a
member of Blissville Church of the Brethren, Plymouth, Walkerton
Rebekah Lodge 437, and was a volunteer for Miller's Merry Manor.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in
Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph
County Heart Association.
