SOUTH BEND - Benedict S. Meller, 75, of West Dunham Street, died at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mr. Meller retired in 1982 from Bendix Corp. He was born March 27, 1920, in South Bend.

On Sept. 25, 1943, in South Bend, he married Evelyn Stachowiak. She survives with two daughters, Susan Meller and Ann Knapik, both of South Bend; two sons, Michael and David, both of South Bend; six grandchildren; and a brother, Leo of South Bend.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 4 p.m.
