Mrs. Emily Corah Mell, 88, died in her home at 8 p.m. Monday after an illness of 10 months.  She was born in West Virginia April 16, 1848, but had spent nearly all her life here.  She was married Jan. 1, 1869, to William Wallace Mell.  Surviving are three children, Murrillo Mell, of New Carlisle; Mrs. Grace Dodge, Three Rivers, Mich., and Mrs. Leona Ashcraft, New Carlisle, and senven brothers and sisters.  Mrs. Mell was the oldest member of the New Carlisle Methodist Episcopal church, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Rev. H. L. McBride, the pastor, officiating.  Burial in New Carlisle cemetery.  The body will lie in the residence from Wednesday noon until 9 a.m. Thursday.
