Hazel H. Mellander

June 9, 1903 – February 10, 1988

Hazel H. Mellander, 84, of 2808 Beechwood Lane, died at 2:35am today in St Joseph’s Medical Center.  Mrs. Mellander was a retired registered nurse.

She was born June 9, 1903, in Chicago, she married Robert T. Mellander, who died in 1973.  She is survived by a son, Thomas E. of South Bend; and three grandchildren, including Robert J. Mellander of South Bend.

Private services will be Friday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N William St.  Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Mrs. Mellander was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Schuts Lewis Children’s Home, Valparaiso.
