SOUTH BEND - Frank Mejer, 100, of
Transitional Health Services, died at 10 a.m. today in the
nursing home. Mr. Mejer retired as a baker after 85 years of
service. He was born March 6, 1894, in Austria, and had lived in
South Bend for 88 years.
On Sept. 12, 1920, in South Bend, he married
Stella Stachowiak. She died in 1976. He is survived by
three sons, Edward of South Bend, Emery of Fort Wayne and Reynold
of Chicago; and five grandchildren. A son, Daniel, died in 1945.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of American Legion
Pulaski Post 357. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in
St. Joseph Funeral Home.

SOUTH BEND - Services for Frank Mejer,
100, of Transitional Health Services, who died at 10 a.m.
Wednesday in the nursing home, will be at noon Friday in St.
Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. He
was a member of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church.
