MISHAWAKA - Mary Ellen McNerney, 81, of St. Augustine, Florida, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, in Flagler Hospital. Mrs. McNerney was a native of Mishawaka, Ind., and had resided in St. Augustine since 1984. Mrs. McNerney was a homemaker and a member of the Duplicate Bridge Club. She was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include her sons, Terence J. McNerney of St. Augustine and Gerald McNerney of Lake Hamilton, IN; sisters, Joan Slott of South Bend, Jean Wawrzyniak of Indianapolis and Katherine Winans of Kendallville, IN; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. McNerney, on March 20, 2000.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, South Bend. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 8, in the HICKEY Funeral Homes, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd. South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association, 706 Haddonfield Road, Cherry Hill, NJ; or to the charity of your choice.
