SOUTH BEND - Loretta C. McNarney, 83, of East Riverside Drive, died at 1:25 a.m. today in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal. Miss McNarney retired from J.C. Penney Co., Wasbash, Ind., as a clerical worker.

She was born May 2, 1912, in Wabash, and lived in South Bend for 20 years. She is survived by a brother, Hugh J. McNarney of South Bend; a nephew, John F. McNarney of South Bend; and a great-niece, a great-great-niece and a great-great-nephew.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday in McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road.
