Sister M. Gerald Francis McNamera CSC, 74, of Saint Mary’s Convent died at 4:20 p.m. Friday in the convent. As Mary Veronica McNamera, she was born April 18, 1918 in Chicago. She enered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s Jan. 28, 1938 and professed her vows Aug. 15, 1940. Her professional and community assignments included teaching in elementary schools conducted by the Sisters of Holy Cross, and was assigned to Holy Cross and Christ the King Schools in South Bend.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Church of Loretto with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today in the convent where a wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m.
