father, Francis M. McMahon, and his infant daughter, Lisa Ann
McMahon, preceded him in death.A hundred years from now it will
not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived
in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different
because I was important in the life of a child.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Sept.
6, at 1:00 p.m. in St. Matthew's Cathedral, 1701 Miami Street,
South Bend, IN 46614. Rev. Mike Heintz will officiate. Entombment
will follow at Riverview Mausoleum in South Bend. Friends may
call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger
Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46614.
Mac attended the University of Tulane in New
Orleans and graduated from Huntington College in Huntington, IN,
both through basketball scholarships. He loved sports, Disney
World, and playing golf, and more importantly, loved watching and
supporting all of his grandchildren in all their endeavors. Mac
was an avid Chicago Bears and Notre Dame fan, and a die-hard
Chicago Cubs fan. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd
Fellows and a parishioner of St. Matthew's Cathedral. He
especially was a loving husband, father and grandfather, son,
son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He was a
friend to all. Everyone loved him. Everyone will miss his smile.
He was a kind, gentle and loving man. He was our love. Our family
would like to especially thank the 10th floor nursing staff for
their care and kindness through this difficult time.
