Eleanor L. (Williams) McLean, 78, of
Winston Drive, South Bend, Ind., died at 2:40 p.m. on Monday,
Feb. 1, in Memorial Hospital. Eleanor retired in 1981 from the
First Source Bank as a bank teller for many years. She was born
on Oct. 23, 1920, in Wayne City, Ill., and had lived in South
Bend for most of her life. Eleanor was a member of the American
Turners. On Nov. 29, 1941, in South Bend, she married Donald P.
McLean, Sr., who died on Aug. 2, 1993. She was also preceded in
death by three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by a
daughter, Susan K. Schwering of Danville, Calif.; a son,
Donald P. McLean, Jr., of Plano, Texas; and by five grandchildren
and two great-grandsons.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, in the Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson, with Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
