James Paul McIntee

J. Paul McIntee, 88, of Tanglewood Trace, died at 3:30 a.m. today in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fort Wayne.

 

Mr. McIntee retired from Robertson's Department Store in 1971.

 

Born Feb. 1, 1897, in Bradford, Ill., he had lived in the South Bend area since 1928.

 

On June 8, 1929, in Mishawaka, he married Mary Kelly, who died in March 1976. On Dec. 3, 1982, he married Margaret Searson Lavender, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Patrick of Mishawaka; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and a sister, Alice Wray of South Bend.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

 

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

 

A World War I veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post 161 and Knights of Columbus Council 1878.
