Daniel Joseph McIntee

Dan J. McIntee, 75, of 701 Lincoln Way E., a Mishawaka barber for 45 years, died at 2:15 a.m. today in St. Joseph Hospital, where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been in failing health for several years.

McIntee was born in Bradford, Ill., on Jan. 30, 1900, and moved to Mishawaka from that city 53 years ago. He owned and operated Dan's Barber Shop here for 35 years, then was employed at Jack's Barber Shop for 10 years.

He married Mary Murphy in Mishawaka on Feb. 24, 1938. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, James W. McIntee of Bettendorf, Iowa and Kenneth P. McIntee of New Orleans, six grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Katherine McIntee and Mrs. Alice Wray, both of South Bend, and two brothers, John McIntee of Tallahassee, Fla. and Paul McIntee of South Bend.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, where final arrangements are being made.

 

McIntee was a member of St. Joseph parish, the Mishawaka Journeyman Barbers Local 927, and Mishawaka Council 1878, Knights of Pythias.
