Constance McInerny, 70, of 51236
Golfview Court, Granger, died Saturday, May 18, in her home with
her husband and children at her bedside. She was born September
25, 1931 in Graceville, Minnesota to Mary (Sisson) and
Harry Ferdinand Kunert and raised in Minneapolis, where
she attended St. Thomas the Apostle Parish School, South West
High School and the University of Minnesota.
On January 3, 1953, she married Ralph
McInerny. They lived in Quebec City and Omaha before coming to
South Bend in 1955. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael
and is survived by her husband Ralph, four daughters and their
families, Cathleen (Michael) Brownell of Barrington, IL, Mary
(Tom) Hosford, Baltimore, MD, Anne (Chris) Policinski
of Shorewood, MN, and Beth (Paul) Hark, Inver Grove
Heights, MN and two sons and their families, David (Nancy) of
Aurora, IL and Daniel (Amy), Houston, TX. There are sixteen
grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Paul (Pat)
Kunert, Minneapolis and Raoul (Sandy) Kunert, Fort Worth, TX.
Connie was a member of the Ladies of Notre Dame and of the
Service Guild, which she served as president and a volunteer at
the Logan Center. She was a homemaker, gardener, voracious reader
and inveterate traveler in this country and abroad.
Visitation will be at Hickey Funeral Home,
Cleveland Road Chapel on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., where a Rosary
will be said at 5 p.m. A funeral Mass will be offered at Sacred
Heart Basilica at Notre Dame, on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. with Rev.
Marvin O'Connell as main celebrant. Burial will be in Cedar Grove
Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Women's Care
Center.
