SOUTH BEND - James T. McGrath, 76, of
Skye Court, died Thursday afternoon in his home after an illness.
Mr. McGrath retired in 1985 as a sales manager of Kodell
Industries. He was born April 1, 1919, in Chicago, and had lived
in this area since 1964.
On Jan. 13, 1944, in Chicago, he married
Betty Brice. She survives with two daughters, Kathleen
McGrath of South Bend and Maureen Tedrow of New Orleans;
five sons, Michael of Channahon, Ill., Robert of Warsaw, James of
Kodiak, Alaska, William of Grand Rapids and John of Elkhart; 15
grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Gergits of Chicago and
Katherine Lorenz of Brookfield, Ill.; and a brother,
Patrick McGrath of Illinois. He was a member of Moose Lodge 836,
Goshen; St. Jude Catholic Church, past commander of American
Legion, Chicago, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the
church. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Chicago.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Guisinger
Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, where a rosary will be at 7 p.m.
