Sister M. Theophane CSC, of the Sister of Holy Cross, died Sunday in Saint Mary’s Convent after a serious illness. Born in 1891 in Oil City, Pa. (as Teresa McGovern), she entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross from St. Joseph’s parish in Oil City in 1909, receiving the habit the same year. She made her profession of vows in 1911. During her community life she was stationed at St. Joseph Academy in South Bend; Morris, Ill.; San Francisco; Fresno; Los Angeles and Salt Lake City.

The requiem mass will be offered in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s College at 7 a.m. Tuesday and burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor.
