Aug. 25, 1913 - May 31, 1992 SOUTH BEND - Irene McFarren, 78, of 3416 Whitcomb Ave., died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday in her home. Mrs. McFarren retired from Bendix Corp. She was born Aug 25, 1913, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On Oct. 28, 1939, in South Bend, as Irene Reiter, she married Raymond H. McFarren. He survives with three sisters, Henrietta Reiter, Harriett Podemski and Loretta Ritschard, all of South Bend. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, and Bendix Local 9 of the United Auto Workers. Private services were today in St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
