Sister Mary Aline McFadden CSC

Sister Mary Aline CSC, 81, died Monday at Saint Mary’s Convent, after a prolonged illness. She was born Annie Mary McFadden in Chester, Pa. in 1880. She attended St. Mary’s Academy, Alexandria, Va., and from there entered  the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1897, receiving the habit the next year, and making her professional vows in 1904. She served in Logansport and LaPorte, Ind.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Baltimore; Washington DC; Alexandria, Va.; Woodstock, Ill; New York City; and had been on active duty at the mother house from 1935 until illness forced her retirement in recent years. She is survived by two nephews and four nieces.

Friends may call in the convent parlor. Services are scheduled for Wednesday morning in Our Lady of Loretto Church with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s.
