MISHAWAKA - Louis Henry McDaniel, 93, passed away on Tuesday,
January 6, in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka. Louis was born on
October 31, 1916, in Mishawaka, to Ralph and Marie (DeVreese)
McDaniel. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister,
Ethel Reasor; a brother, Harry McDaniel; and a granddaughter,
Terri Barber. On June 15, 1940, in Plymouth, IN, he married the
former Lois Babcock. Surviving are his beloved wife, Lois; four
children, Larry (Suzanne) McDaniel of Elk Grove Village, IL,
Harry (Beverly) McDaniel of Mishawaka, Kathy (Mark) Cowan of
Platt City, MO, and Nancy Schumanski of Mishawaka; nine
grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Louis was a Veteran of
the United States Army, serving his country during WW II. He
worked for Bendix for 40 years, retiring in 1980. He enjoyed
being outside, whether it was fishing, walking or bike riding. He
also coached Little League baseball. Visitation will be held on
Friday, January 8th, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505
W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held on
Saturday, January 9th, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour
prior in the funeral home, with Rev. Erv Mize officiating. Burial
will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Memorial
contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
