SOUTH BEND - Elinor M. McCray, 88, of
St. Joseph's Care Center-West, died at 9:20 p.m. Monday in St.
Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. McCray retired in 1971 from Bendix
Corp. in receiving and inspection after 33 years of service. She
was born March 12, 1908, in Buchanan. In 1926, as Elinor M. Maxson,
she married Rolland T. Moody. He died in 1934. On Nov. 1,
1942, in South Bend, she married Lawrence C. McCray. He survives
with two sons, Clifford of South Bend and Rolland Jr. of Fort
Collins, Colo.; and three grandchildren. She was a member of
United Methodist Women, past superintendent of the Sunday school
program of Epworth Memorial United Methodist Church, and Order of
Eastern Star Chapter 569.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the
church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park,
Granger. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in
Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home and one hour before services
Thursday in the church.
