SOUTH BEND - Earl C. McClone, 83, of Richard Street, died at 11 a.m. Thursday in his home after an illness. Mr. McClone was a former employee of the Studebaker Corp. and Northern Indiana Toll Road Commission. He was born Nov. 9, 1910, in LaPaz and lived in South Bend for 65 years, coming from Mentone.
On Sept. 14, 1929, in South Bend, he married Mildred Pierce. She died in 1982. He is survived by three daughters, Dolores Wisniewski and Betty Wesolowski, both of South Bend, and Eleanor Huston of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A son, Robert, preceded him in death. He was a member of the First Christian Church, its Golden Warriors, and Rolling Prairie Lions Club.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
