Fred L. McClelland Sr. (Aug. 15, 1932-July 2, 1995)

LAPORTE - Fred L. McClelland Sr., 62, of 1406 Jefferson Ave., died at 7 a.m. Sunday in his home. Mr. McClelland was a retired machine operator from Teledyne Casting Service, where he worked for eight years. He was born Aug. 15, 1932, in Pontiac, Mich., and had resided in the LaPorte area for 26 years, coming from Pontiac. On July 2, 1957, in Pontiac, he married Sandra Zellers. She survives with a daughter, Sheri Boller of Portage, Ind.; four sons, Fred Jr., Kevin, Gregory and Steven, all of LaPorte; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; his mother and stepfather, Florence and Bill Schwocho of Ypsilanti, Mich.; and two brothers, John of Fenton, Mich., and Jim of Rochester, Mich. A grandson preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Haverstock Funeral Chapel. Cremation will take place and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association Home Care Services Inc. Hospice or Salvation Army Church.
