Brian McCarthy (April 1, 1928-Nov. 23, 1994)
SOUTH BEND - Brian McCarthy, 66, of Saginaw,
Mich., formerly of South Bend, died Wednesday in St. Luke's
Hospital, Saginaw, after an illness. Mr. McCarthy retired in 1992
from General Motors Corp. as a mechanical engineer after 27 years
of service. He was born April 1, 1928, in South Bend and moved to
Saginaw in 1964, going there from South Bend. On May 26, 1951, in
South Bend, he marred Freida J. Nagy. She survives with a
daughter, Maureen McCarthy of Saginaw; eight sons, Rev. Paul of
South Bend, Patrick, Daniel and Kevin, all of Saginaw, Timothy of
San Diego, Philip of Chicago, Thomas of Boston and Ted of Flint,
Mich.; seven grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Slais of St.
Louis; and a brother, Edward of New Orleans. He was a graduate of
the University of Notre Dame.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St.
Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Saginaw. Burial will be in St. Andrew
Cemetery, Saginaw. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Sunday in Snow Funeral Home, Saginaw, where a parish rosary will
be said at 4 p.m., and one hour before services Monday in the
church.
