Sister M. Blanca CSC, 94, of St. Mary’s
Convent, died there early Sunday morning after an extended
illness. She was born Catherine Mary McCabe on May 13,
1883 in County Lilkenny, Ireland. She entered the Congregation of
the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Dec. 8, 1902,
coming from Osary, County Kilkenny. She made her profession of
vows on Aug. 15, 1905. She resided at St. Mary’s Convent
since 1964. She had taught in schoolsd in Anderson, East Chicago
and Plymouth in Indiana, and in Illnois, Californis, Utah and
Idaho.
Friends may call in the convent parlkors,
where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. today. Services will be at
10 a.m. Tuesday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, with burial
in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus.
